CloudTech will organize 4 special sessions in conjunction with the conference. The aim is to provide a forum to exchange the ideas and preliminary results of topics related to cloud computing, applications and security.

Submission Information

Proposals should include the following information:

  • Special Session name and a 200 to 300-word abstract describing the Special Session, suitable for the conference website.
  • Names and affiliations of main organizers and Scientific committee members.
  • A draft Call For Papers.
  • The Special Session deadlines.
  • Special Session format, i.e., expected number of presented papers, invited talks, panels, demonstrations, number of days, etc.
  • Expected number of submissions and participants.

This special session is dedicated to the Brussels I-City project. The I-City project holders are encouraged to present their work in this session to a broad Cloud computing Community. Related topics are however also encouraged to participate and present their work in this special track.

Session 3: RFID Technologies for Cloud Computing and IoT

Session organizer: Prof. dr. Said Ben Alla from Settat University

The purpose of this special session is to exchange applied research in RFID and provides attendees with a unique opportunity to share, discuss, and witness research results in all areas of RFID technologies and their applications in cloud computing and IoT. The conference attendance boasts an outstanding mix of practitioners and researchers from both academia and industry.

Topic of Interest
We welcome submissions from both academia and industry on this emerging multi-disciplinary research field. Papers are expected to explore fundamental or applied research and engineering problems related to all areas pertinent to RFID technologies and their applications in the cloud computing and IoT. The special session will cover the following non exhaustive list of topics:

- RFID with cloud computing and the IoT
- Smart RFID Tags for cloud computing
- RFID-based sensor networks
- Security and privacy in RFID systems
- Tracking and localization in RFID systems
- Design of ISM band RFID reader antenna for IoT applications
- Antenna Design for RFID Applications in IoT Environment
- Antenna solutions for IoT and M2M

Session 4: Building Innovation in Cloud computing Through SImulation and Prototypes

Session organizer: Prof. dr. Said Ben Alla from Settat University

Have you made a simulation or have you build a prototype of your innovative cloud computing application, then your work can be considered for presentation in this special session. Innovators get the ability to give a short oral presentation of their work, get their short-paper published in the conference proceedings and show case their work on November 27th, 2018, in Brussels. The scientific committee will nominate a best innovator award at the closing session of the Cloudtech 2018 conference.
Innovators wishing to participate should send a short paper (2 pages) of their innovation with photos/screenshots and preliminary results before August 20, 2018 to: innovationstrack@cloudtechconference.org.
